In wonder if Shaz has discovered that recreating the Autochrome is no simple feat. :D

I heard that Lavedrine's book is going to be translated into English, which will be fantastic. I wonder if someone who speaks French and has read the book can tell us or hypotheses on how a single layer of potato starches is formed with carbon black perfectly between each grain.

The thought of creating a modern, workable screen-plate is still very appealing to me... there's gotta be a better way to do it though!

Experiments with TV-screens on slide film have been progressing slowly, but recent results are very promising. In any case, registration is a huge pain in the tuckus & stumbling block. A panchromatic emulsion (an ordeal in itself) coated directly on a plate is the obvious solution.

My mistake, I misspelled it..... Bertrand Lavédrine. Author of L'autochrome Lumière : Secrets d'atelier et défis industriels

No worries! It sounds like a very nice and interesting book. I just wish the days were 48 hours...
