I just saw this posted on photo.net

"I am doing a portrait/fashion story soon for a national men's magazine that will be shooting throughout the rockies (CO, WY, MT). We all looking to do a portrait of a landscape photographer with his large-format, field camera in Grand Teton National park. Please let me know if you would fit the bill & be interested in participating, or if you might know of a photographer in the area who would be. The picture would probably end up as a double page spread. Thanks in advance! Andy Ryan andy@andyryanphotography.com "

Hmmm !! I wonder if my pot belly and balding head would portray the norm of LF shooters?? I'm extremely crossed eyed as well !! Whadya' think ????? C'mon tell the truth !! Would it help if I looked like Tim McGraw ??
BTW--I resemble the first guy a great deal more than McGraw !!!

Andy's work has that classic "Holga look" to it. So anyone interested in being his subject better look good in a cross-processed, soft-focus, edgy sort of way! (I wonder if he'll insist on bodacious babes hanging all over you as well!) Hmmm, come to think of it, that might be just the ticket!

Jos,

LOL... you'd be an absolute shoe-in!

But, to aid in your application during the interview process... dress according to David's comment.

And, don't forget the thick, thick glasses with the string around the back of your head as well!

Cheers

I emailed Andy to check it out, and he replied that the shoot is a done deal. This is outdated.

Same ole' crap, just another day, when will these guys learn...

I got excited about one of these postings some 5 years ago, what a freaking joke! I showed up with a wood field and was told point blank...."That is NOT a large format camera!"

They wanted someone with a speed graphic..

And the "double page spread" ended up less than 1/3 page B&W with very poor shadow detail and printing...these guys amaze me..they come around out this way about every 3-4 months..

Hey- who let the Hasselblad in that photo????? I thought that was a Large Format group! :D

Yep, David shoots one of those itty-bitty cameras, though I spent most of the day during our outing today photographing with an X-Pan I had rented for my trip to Okalhoma and also ran a roll through the holga--I did shoot some 4x5, too, though so as not to be stuck only having postage stamp negs

edit: it's a Kowa, not a hasselblad
