Well, you can't just go back to film. It isn't that easy. First you have flog yourself, clothe yourself in horsehair, and crawl on you knees clear around Silicon Valley, spitting on the pavement every few feet. The head east and burn your all your digital cameras at the site of the former film coating plant in Rochester. Inhale the fumes, toxic lead, mercury, and all. Hallucinate until you've achieved your vision quest. Then carry
a 20x24 view camera on your back while you walk barefoot all the way back to California, so you can teach humility to all those geeky
tech engineers.

Hey, it could be a lot crueler, like having to crawl around in the heat and smog of SoCal. No wonder you don't understand the relevance of
Horse $#!+! , because the last pasture down there was buried in asphalt decades ago. Wish Silicon Valley had begun there, so some of the
best farm land on earth hadn't been paved over up here. Looking at orchards sure beats looking at these damn computer screens.

EDIT - I know I said I couldn't really use my Nikon F2 due to sight challenges, but a friend of mine just gifted me another F2, an F2A from 1977 with a AI 50/1.4 lens. This camera is in much better shape than the old first gen F2 I have in my closet. So I'm going to give it a try.

Yes, you have to double check. Sometimes it's the camera that aged poorly, not you.

For instance Rick A sold me his OM-4 that has had a recent CLA. I took it out the past few weekends and the finder is so bright and clear it caught me off-guard. I've been using a mix of vintage cameras and my old OM-4 has a finder problem (little lens at the eyepiece popped out) that put it out of commission and made it dim and funky.

Even the kids who looked through the finder thought it was like looking at HD.

So is it true that you mother never loved you? :whistling: You need to chill for a while or instant karma will get you.

Well, fortunately my EOS-1V and EOS-1N cameras also have really bright viewfinders. I have another thread up where I'm finding out my aged right hand is having a hard time holding a camera without a handgrip (which is how life's been for the last ten years). I have a minor arthretic condition due to drumming all my life, and while I was carrying around the F2A the last couple of days shooting a test roll, I noticed my right hand having a real hard time with the weight and holding the camera. Doc doesn't think it's a good idea to aggravate the hand anymore than I already do

Sorry to hear about your hand issues. Maybe is time for some assistive tech. You already have a tripod, so put your camera on that, you won't have as much weight on it that way. Or invest in a monopod. Monopods operate a bit faster than tripods since there's only one leg. And they can double as a walking staff when out on hikes!

Thanks, but I think in this case, and at this stage of the game, I think I'll just hang up the ol' F2. My EOS cameras more than make up for it, so I'll soldier on with those. I have a AI Nikkor 50/1.4 if anybody needs one. Although I think everyone here probably has a 50
