Att. BTZS and Mac Users

For anyone running the new iMacs w/intel Apple just made available "Boot Camp" to run Windows XP NATIVELY on their Macs! Now we can use Win Plotter and such on our Macs. Here's info......

BTZS softwares are running under VirtualPC on Mac OSX. I use both of them almost daily.

True, but with Boot Camp you don't have to buy VirtualPC. It will come with OSX next year.

But then there is OS-X and all that APUG has to offer.
Not to forget Linux. I don't have any problems with my

I think you should do a little more reading and become a wee bit better informed before making these kinds of statements.

Hi Dan,

I'm a Linux user for the past 7 or so years and also use the BTZS software. Now under Wine I can run Winplotter with no problems but cannot get the Palm side of ExpoDev to work. [Pity really ] Like you I have an ME setup on a removeable hard drive which I use just for the palm transfers.

Does the phrase "jumping the shark" apply here? I love my iMac, with the stability of OSX, and I do not miss the blue screen with which I was so familiar with my old PC. I really just do not get why anyone who has used a Mac would be remotely interested in running Windows on it, but to each his own. To me its kind of like wearing a Honda jacket while riding one's Harley Davidson though.

BTZS is a wonderful way to free you from the relentless uncertainty of the zone system. It is programmed to run on Windows I would assume due to the fact that Windows is the major operating system by a long shot.

Because of the BTZS program, that's why. To me, unlike the Honda analogy, I can have my cake and eat it too!

I have a real old version of the Plotter/Matcher software that I ran on Mac OS 7. I believe that Phil Davis wrote the first versions of the BTZS program for the original Macintosh computers. I have an old Mac II kicking around with BTZS loaded on it, waiting for the day that I replace my poor old dead densitometer.

Just got through loading Boot Camp and I must say looking at the film curves on a 20" iMac is a real treat. The part that is really nice is how snappy it is (the Win Plotter program) on the Mac. It is absolutely instantaneous. Really, really nice.
