That Kodak company dotted every i and crossed every t. Never saw another like it. Seems like they left no stone unturned.
I'll bet a drunkard or a doper or an unstable personality was out the door in a New York minute.

Acutally NO. If your work was unaffected you were not dismissed. Of course, if you were one of the above, it was hard, very hard to achieve a good work record.

Everyone was given a chance.

I'd love to tour Kodak's research labs. I bet they make the make the lab I work in look pathetic.

I'd liked to have toured them 20 or more years ago. Now, it would probably make me sad. How about in the 60's and 70's? I bet that place was really cooking--hitting on all 8 cylinders.

Yeah, we had million dollar labs, I can tell you that. All the best of the best. And the activity was very high with lots of hard work going on 24/5 in KRL and 24/7 in the plants.

How many chemists in the lab during those peak years PE?

About 2000 in Rochester, and more in England and France. But IDK what the divide was between Chemist, Physicist, and Tech was. There was a Junior and Senior Staff, and then a small group of Super Seniors and one Chief Scientist on that staff. About 10% were Senior members. Techs could be promoted to Junior or Senior Staff through merit or additional schooling. So, it was a very "equal" place based on merit and achievement.
