Hi,

I recently bought a Asahi Pentax - Model III spotmeter. I'm not sure if I do anything wrong or it is defect. this are the settings: settings.jpg

I pointed it against a bright wall and I don't press any button, the needle isn't deflected at all:

Then I press the button to go into the low range but the needle exceeds the the scale:

I guess the high range is defect, or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,
Mampfi

Ok I forgot the highrange battery:blink:

From the manual:
Power source: One 1.3V mercury battery (Mallory RM640, Eveready E640 or equivalent)--for high-light range
One 9V dry battery (Mallory M-1604, Eveready 216 or equivalent)--for low-light range.

I got the manual but never read it in total, what by lack of that meter is quite understandable. But now I am surprised to learn of a meter having two different power sources, for its two ranges.
