I've been taking this series of photos for about 7 years or so. It first started when I was unemployed and bored at home and started taking photos of the scale models I build attacking my brother's cat. Over the years this hobby has evolved for me and I've graduated from taking these pictures with my phone to using a Canon Rebel T6 and I've even managed to get some paid work here and there.

I've also started taking a series of Film Noir themed photos, since that genre peaked shortly after world war two, and there are a pretty good selection of 1:35 scale civilians for me to work with.

I've found lately for the noir stuff in particular that building scenery and using it much the way film sets would be built in the studio at the time to be a very practical approach.

Excellent project...cinematic... they open adequately quickly on my relatively fast laptop and fast internet access.

A friend with severe multiple sclerosis'...spent his early adulthood playing with colorful wooden blocks, making villages in his living room.. he eventually wanted to photograph them... visited Adolph Gasser's (San Francisco's best photo store) , was referred to the sainted Gene Saunders (my friend and a Minor White student) ... Gene sold him an Instamatic (my friend was physically able to load carts), had Gasser's shop install an adapter ring for macro filters...the afflicted friend shot Ektachrome at various of his building block cities at various distances in order to learn which close up lenses worked best at what distances...he brought his successes to Faulkner Color Lab (which was where I met him). He wanted 20X24 prints. We made him a collection of spectacular/soft Cibachrome prints, which he then exhibited in a gallery and sold..

Excellent! These remind me of that wonderful film, "Welcome to Marwen" I recommend the film to any who haven't seen it. BTW, it features a Pentax Spotmatic.....

Excellent! They remind me of the film 'Toy Soldiers'.

At present, I can only load the first three pictures though... hopefully leaving the page open, they will all appear... eventually!
