I'll be in the Place Voltaire on Tuesday morning after about 10:30, at a table at one of the bar/cafés.

Anyone else there?

If you want to know what I look like (and I'll be with Frances) check http://www.rogerandfrances.com/aboutus.html (well, it's easier than having a carnation in my buttonhole, isn't it?)

Cheers,

Roger

I'll be at the dentist's. If you want to know what I'll look like, find a photo of a squirrel with a full cheek-pouch of acorns. Sigh...... A bar/cafe sounds amazingly appealing!

Roger,

Sorry, I can't make it. There are two photo exhibits at the Getty that I will see tomorrow.

See you when I am in your neighborhood.

Ah, Arles!

The light that inspired Van Gogh. Such a special place. I remember fondly my visit there - definitely a place to which I wish to return.

Alas, while I'd love to meet up with you Roger, I will be unable to do so this Tuesday. Drat it all, mind you, but the toil of employment requires my attendance that day in New York.

Do have an aperitif for me, however, and let's figure a time for luncheon together the next time you visit New York.

BTW, under the inspiration of dear Vincent - will you too be removing an ear?

I wish, my wife said just today that she would like to go to Paris.

Dear George,

That's where I have the advantage of you. This is, of course, a business trip for Roger Hicks Ltd.

And a much cheaper one for me than NY. But if my purse ever runs again to The Show Formerly Known As VISCOMM perhaps we can meet some year at the Javits Center.

Cheers,

Roger

I'll think of you.

Actually, I'll probably forget while I'm sitting there, and later think, 'Oh, bugger, didn't think of him...' But the thought will have been there...

Cheers,

Roger

Actually I thought about going there finally. As I've not been there yet. But I don't want to drive up there on my own. And there is that gasoline issue (I don't drive a Rover for landuse though...).

The festival is going 'till 8 of july, but the exhibitions 'till mid september. Who knows...

Roger, any tips on the festival are welcome though.
(Did I state, that I don't speak French?)

Only the first few days are worth going to; it REALLY thins out after a week and the 'buzz' pretty much evaporates.

A lot is in English too. In fact there's a lot of parallel text. And, after all, the pics (no language required) are the thing.

It's handy to be able to order a meal, but you don't need much more French than that, and indeed, you can survive without.

Cheers,

Roger

I'll be in Arles and Nîmes around July 22, sporting a Crown Graphic, but I guess you will have gone by then.
Sorry to miss the opportunity to walk up to you and say "Mr. Hicks I presume?".
BTW do you allways wear the monocle? Much better than a red carnation!

Yup, I'll be gone. Pity. Of course you could always drive down via the Aquitaine...

I always wear the monocle when I'm travelling, but not always at home. I need it to see distant landscapes, etc. -- it's not for close up.

Cheers,

Roger
