How is Pinnacle Mountain for photography?

My school goes there for a lot of field trips because it does have some awesome shots but I've been there too much. I want to see something new!

I'm with Jbridges, pinnacle is to busy, mnt magazine would be decent, if you wanted to do a mountain. Winona Forest Drive would be great as well its a 20mile gravel drive with vistas, and lakes.

Winona Forest Drive looks like a great idea.

Village Creek sits almost right on top of Crowley's Ridge. Not very flat at all. I was just thinking of a place to meet. I am sure I could come into the central part of the state, but not sure about all the way to the Western side.

my bad. photomem I was thinking of lake village in the southeast corner of arkansas. village creek sounds great!

Here is the webpage for Village Creek : http://www.arkansasstateparks.com/villagecreek/

I just looked and they have 3 bedroom / 2 bath cabins for 128.00 per night, which seems really reasonable to me. I am going to throw the idea of making a weekend of it and splitting one of the cabins... any thoughts?

One other thought, I would love to get back up to Ponca and Rush... maybe a fall color / ghost town / mine meetup might be a good idea? Or maybe the Winona Forest Drive for fall?

the VC park site looks like a sweet spot. lets try a spring trip and the whole cabin deal. sounds great if it's a saturday. i think we could turn this into a spring and fall apug regional get together.

who else is in for the cabin in the spring at village creek park?

Sounds great to me.

What about April 16 & 17? Or do you guys want to do a Friday Sat & Sunday?

The 16 & 17 works fine for me

Hey guys, I just found out I have been accepted into a juries art auction on the 17th. So, I need to be in Memphis that day. Any suggestions for other weekends?

I just got a new job and I travel 3 to 4 days a week so I am know a little hesitant to commit to a 2 night stay. I don't think my wife would like that. But I would love a full day or day and a half get together.
The cool thing about my job is I get to take my camera and I actually have been taking more pictures so I am kind of stoked.

I just asked the person in charge of Mapsym 2011 at our photo club meeting last about having an analog class. The respond was no. He said "you are a dying breed". He also claimed that any one still shooting film is doing it because there are familiar and good with it and would not benefit from a class.

Only 20-30 people would be needed for such a class. I'm sure there would be plenty of people in the area who would be interested and would benefit from such a class. Anyway, the lighting classes and outdoor workshops are still go from a shooting perspective.

Personally I would like to see the look on peoples faces if 30 film photographers showed up.

Anyone still here?
