Arista 400.edu/Fortepan 400 Looking for shooting speed & developing suggestions

..And "Dont!" isn't really helpful...
It's all I have with me today and I'm shooting in an hour..daylight conditions, overcast, 120 size, and I have I have a yellow 12 oem rollei filter with me..
Looking for what worked well for you and why-

I shoot if often, it's cheep, why not? I have shot it at 200, 400, and 800 and haven't really seen much change in the image quality. The only thing I can say is I think it's a bit grainy, it reminds me of old fashioned film. But it still looks nice if you not wanting the ultra smooth look. Hope it helps.

A little late but..
I'd skip the filter, this stuff is REAL contrasty. I rate it at ei200/250. Develop in D76 1:1 for about 13min at 20C.

I choose D76 just to help mask the grain a bit. I havent tried it at 1:0 yet but might in the future. I'd bet that this film would look great in Microdol-X. And this is coming from a guy who likes grain.

I shot some images outdoors, bright bright sunlight at 100 and developed per above. Came out very printable. In the end, I went back to 120 Tri-X for MF..
All the usual stories apply.

The Arista 100.edu stuff is pretty good though, i'm starting to like that more.

Do a film speed and developing time test and then you'll know what works for your camera and not someone elses.

Thanks for the suggestions. Based on what I'm reading this was a good film for the situation-the light was flat and I was using a Rolleicord and 2 Holga's loaded with this stuff. I was looking for grain, an old-time look and a boost in contrast. I'll post some images in the near future.
