Yes, they are still being manufactured but in a very small scale. The company is named DHW Fototechnik. It was formed by employees of the former Rollei company "Franke & Heidecke" which went into bankruptcy a few years ago.

There is still really no confirmation that I've heard one way or the other regarding the Hy6. Some believe it is being sold from existing stock, and others say DHW is building new ones. Either way, you can get a much better price if you buy directly from DHW.

Hi Guys-

The B&H website still lists these 4 Rollei cameras for sale....I can't seem to get onto the website for Rollei...any idea if they are still being manufactured?

Thanks,
Patrick

Hello Patrick,

yes, the production is running. Instead of saying "they are still manufactured" it is more precise to say "the production has restarted" (at the beginning of 2010).
The current product line:

Rolleiflex 2,8 FX
Rolleiflex 4,0 FW
Rolleiflex 4,0 FT
Rolleiflex Hy 6
Rolleiflex 6008 AF
Rollei 35
Rolleivision twin MSC 315
Rolleivision twin MSC 325P
Rolleivision 66 dual P.

Their most important export market is Asia, especially China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.
In former times it was North America, but these times are gone now.

Best regards,
Henning

Great news!

If I had a lot of dough I would order two of each.

Best of Luck to everyone at DHW!

the 6008 AF is way cheaper used though. I suspect all of them are, but this one can be found for a third the price, including extras.

Hello Patrick,

as far as I know yes. Exception: With the 6008 it is uncertain. Possible that it is discontinued meanwhile and the last examples are sold now.

Best regards,
Henning

The description in the link says:

They feature a renowned Zeiss-licensed, Rollei-built 80mm f/2.8 Planar lens and incorporate center-weighted TTL lightmetering with a viewfinder read-out and the capability of TTL "Off-the-Film" flash exposure.

This "Zeiss-licensed, Rollei-built" stinks a bit of marketing lie to me. Isn't it much more likely that the lens are very well built by Zeiss themselves? That wouldn't detract at all from the qualities of the camera in any case.

No. Indeed most of their lenses have been built by themselves in their factory. And some of the designs were built under license. I've been there on two factory tours some time ago and I've seen their lens production there.
And as Dennis said, now the Zeiss license has not been extended, therefore the Apogon name.

Best regards,
Henning
