The title pretty much says it all. I'm wondering if there are any film photography magazines (in English) left in print. I know there is Looking Glass (which I subscribed to already) but I'm wondering about hard copies not digital.

APUG; t's better than any magazine!

Hi guys,

Neither film nor Print is dead. I just founded a print only high quality Magazine solely dedicated to analogue photography. It is about the art .

Maybe you guys are interested in looking into it and join the tribe - we started with HONEST. Issue 0, which is available to order online and in little stores in Vienna and NYC so far (www.honestwithyou.com) . Everyone is invited to the big Launch Party and Garden Gallery Exhibition at Heuer am Karlsplatz on the 17th of June 7pm in Vienna.
At the moment i am curating Issue 1 which will be released in September, feel free to submit on the website, theme for Issue 1 is "HUMAN".

To be perfectly honest with you, we do need your help and support to continue, but i have a fantastic and very dedicated team and we put a lot of love and passion into this.
I hope it is ok to post this here - if you feel like you want to support us, Dead Link Removed this is the link to our Indie GoGo campaign, share it, like honestwithyou on facebook, spread the word!!

I don´t want to spam or anything, but all my heart & love is going towards this collective, giving analog photography a room to breathe and live on.

They haven't "almost" disappeared. Print magazines for film photography have disappeared.

About a year ago a German language, printed magazine started, devoted to all kinds of analogue photography.

Available locally at treinstation bookshops. That is quite a start.

Does it have a name? If not, it's no wonder I've never heard of it.

Wayne, it has repeatedly been hinted at here at Apug, but as it is a text-based magazine and only is published in German interest at Apug is limited of course.

sample reading:

PhotoKlassik tries to handle the whole analogue world, from the image over technics and techniques to history.

Honest, to my understanding, is directed only to presenting contemporary photographs, made with analogue means.

Thus quite different approaches.

Luca,

the only way to find out what Honest is about seems to watch that video at the Honest website.

I guess a few words at that site describing the magazine would be helpful.

Interesting list. But to my understanding it does not contain any analogue-only magazine.

I have one or two boxes of old Modern, Popular, and Petersen's Photography. Mostly 1970's and 1980's, IIRC. In my slow process of getting rid of things for pending old(er) age and smaller living quarters, I'd be happy to give them to anyone who wants them. Obviously, shipping is going to be the killer. From time to time I've shipped some large or heavy items (domestic USA) and FedEx Ground whoops the pants off of UPS and USPS.

If I have a chance today I'll get some weights and maybe more accurate description.

I'm not much into menswear but that was eclectic enough to look interesting. Shame it would cost me $40 to get a copy
