Does anyone know if there are any dealers that stock ULF cameras?

I would like to purchase an 8x20. I've contacted a few dealers but they are all specal order with a wait of around 12 months for delivery.

Thanks!!

Jim

Will you consider used and/or other sizes? I noticed Quality Camera (404) 881-8700 had a LN ( I guess like new) Canham 7x17 in stock $3995 in their January ad in View Camera Magazine.

There was just an 8x20 on eBay this past week. Could keep an eye out there.

Jim,

Have you given Keith a call to see what he has?

Thanks John,

I already have a nice 7x17 but would sure consider getting a Canham. I'll have to think about this one

Hey Dean.

Yeah one just ended today.. I bid $4050 on it and did not win the auction.

It was an old Korona. Although it had 5 film holders and some extras if I'm going to spend that much it will be on a modern camera.

Dave,

I contacted Fred from the View Camera Store and he called Keith. No 8x20's but he has a 7x17 that should be ready by summer.

Richard Ritter is making a number of ULF sizes, I contacted him about an 16x20 and he got right back to me.

Jim,

You might check with William Marderness. He currently has a new Wisner 12x20 on sale on eBay for $4199 with one Wisner holder. Within the last six months he has also sold a 7x17 Wisner on eBay. His eBay ID is wmarderness. You might check to see if he has any 8x20s in stock.

I would also recommend contacting Lotus View Camera. They usually have a few of their ULF cameras in stock at any given time.

And as John mentioned, contact Emile de Leon to see what he has in stock and coming in soon.

A Lotus 8x20 can be ready in 6 months, I can order this for you now if you wish but it is pricey. I'm having a Wisner 8x20 made for another customer due soon, this spring. RW might be able to add yours on to the order and finish 2 at the same time if you are interested. Emile/www.deleon-ulf.com

Richard Ritter is now in production with his ULF. I believe he has already completed a few. He will have them with 7x17, 8x20 and 12x20 backs with 11x14 coming soon after. You can reach him at rr@lg4mat.net.

I know Richard's 11x14's are close, I just shipped him the ground glass for them yesterday. And I shipped him some pano ULF screens right before Christmas..

$4050!? Yeow! Yeah, I'd be much more likely to call Keith and order up an 8x20 back and bellows for my 8x10 than cough $4k for a used Korona. Newer and $500 cheaper.

We're not really that nutty. "Slightly eccentric", perhaps...

Great response, but I always thought one had to be rich to be "eccentric", while the rest of us are simply insane.

You don't have to be rich, just to be able to pretend you are. Having lots of strange expensive-looking toys is one way of doing this.

Bruce's Field Camera Store on eBay should have a couple.

Hi Jim,
I would have liked to answer this email a week ago, but I didn't have my stock yet. Now I do. I'm selling LF in Canada and have a 8x10 and 7x17 in stock.
