Are replacement bubble levels available for Mamiya 7 viewfinders?

The title pretty much says it all. I noticed the other day that the level in my 50mm finder has dried up. My google-foo seems weak today, perhaps it's the local cold weather.

I contacted PhaseOne, who now own what's left of Mamiya. They say they're no longer available and suggested I contact Bob Watkins. He doesn't have any either. Oh well, there are other ways, just way clunkier. Good thing I don't use the finder very often.

I had gotten replacements from MAC back when they still ran the Mamiya parts business. There are sellers of mamiya parts on Ebay, from Japan, that might be an option. The level is just glued in, btw. They were about $40/ea from MAC back in the day. Sucks that PhaseOne/mamiya is not supporting selling repair parts, those wankers.

There are replacement bubble levels that are sold in camera stores and on-line. The only problem that I see is mounting it so that it shows when the camera is truly leveled.

I just ordered one of these

for USD10.96 to my door so I can mount both a generic hot-shoe level and the finder. I'll modify it to reduce the horizontal offset between the camera mount and the mount I'll use for the viewfinder. Yes, this will raise the VF a little higher than Mamiya intended, but that's life. And pretty much any cheap level will be easier to see than the tiny bubble in the Mamiya finder.

You could try Johnsons Photopia, I used to work there servicing Mamiya gear and we had those in stock.

Sadly, Johnsons Photopia reports they no longer have stock.

Paul, thanks for the thought but I'll stick with the auxiliary cold shoe rail I've already ordered. It's more clunky, but is removable/reversible.

Sad news. Maybe they sold off all of their Mamiya stock after I left.
