Arches Platine and salt prints

Has anyone out there tried this combo? i seem to behaving coating problems: am I dragging the coating rod too fast or slow? I have light mauve blank spots.

I have used this combination...works probably best over many other papers
coating problems are inherent in the process
have you tried "floating" the paper; where you just hold the edges and dip the paper in the solution??
