Hi All - I'm having trouble sourcing an Arca Swiss quick-release plate that would work for my Tachihara 8x10.

I'm hoping to learn about what's worked best for large format shooters here since the only option I keep running into is the 150mm plate on B&H and that's unfortunately too short for the nuts to span the necessary distance to thread.

Does such a plate exist?

Any input would be incredibly appreciated!

I picked up a third party150mm plate from eBay, it has two mounting bolts. I have a Nagaoka 8x10, the base plate is similar to Tachi's. I rotated the base on my Nag 90 degrees so the mounting holes run front to back.

maybe this?

I ended up trying the 150mm Arca Swiss plate and the separation of the mounting holes on the base are unfortunately too far apart for both bolts to threaded.

I ordered some 1/4" to 3/8" inserts and maybe I can utilize the large 3/8" hole in the center as a second attachment point.

Maybe these?

Oh this is super interesting, thank you for sharing these! I feel like I did a lot of research on this and these never popped up. I'm unfamiliar with Agena Astro but looks to be an awesome resource - appreciate the heads up!

I'm not familiar with the Tachihara but I installed https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/2122-REG/Arca_Swiss_802210_Universal_Camera_Plate_3_8.html plate on a Toyo 810MII in conjunction with the Toyo anti-twist plate which works. The MII is a triple extension camera.

Thanks Tom!

That's great to hear that that setup works with a triple extension set up since that's what the Tachihara is. I wasn't familiar with anti-twist plates but that seems like it would solve just about all my problems. Really appreciate the insight, thanks again!

If you end up still stuck, the RRS "MPR___" are multi purpose rails, and there have been quite a few different lengths over the years, so easy to find used.

Check the spacing on a 200mm plate.

Thanks very much for the continued ideas, I'll certainly keep them on hand.

On the advice of a friend of mine I contacted Hejnar Photo Store who make their own products in-house and are apparently incredibly high quality. They responded to my email in about 5 minutes detailing exactly what I'd need to make for a perfect set up.

Hasn't arrived in the mail yet but I'm confident we can consider this one as solved!

I’ve got several things from Hejnar, always great quality.

I'm incredibly impressed. I was told to expect something nice but the quality of the part I ordered far exceeded my expectations. He's got a customer in me for as long as he's making parts.

Hejnar makes superb quality stuff. Bought multiple times from him and always impressed

I wish I had known about Hejnar. I ponied up for the Kesler Qwik-stand XL for my 8x10 camera.
