Take a Kiev-60, add mirror lock-up, install and tune 6x4.5mask and spacing, flock the inside to get rid of light leaks, and pop an Arsenal TTL center-weighted metered prism viewfinder on top, and it’s the rebuilt ARAX-645. I think I spent 1100 on all this, but need to see it go and buy some LF gear...

Included is:

- The ARAX 645 MLU camera, Pentacon mount – working perfect. Spacing for 645 is good, camera light-tight and snappy.

- Arsenal TTL metered prism finder – likewise, working exactly as it should

- Biometer MC 80mm/2.8 Carl Zeiss Jena DDR – I tossed the ARAX80mm that came with the kit and bought this CZJ. This example is just fine; no fungus, etc.

- Wide angle CZJ Flektogon 50mm/4 – full case of ‘Schneideritis’, but doesn’t affect IQ at all. Glass in great shape.

- The one I’ll be most sorry to see go: Carl Zeiss Jena 180mm/2.8 Sonnar, with hood and case. It has a dot and spec here and there, but performs like a buttery-smooth champ.
