APUG UK Spring 2007 Gathering

...just looked in to see how this is going on - seems almost a full house! - is the place full yet?

APUG Spring 2007 meet

There is one possible two rooms available. If this hotel gets booked up there are other options nearby,

Hi everyone I've lost track of this now, my own fault been busy on a course at work, would someone be kind enough to give a summary as I'm too bone idle to read back through 16 plus pages. I would be very greatful. I'm sure there are others who would appreciate it too. Before you ask I did keep track on the course, I'm a bloke therefore I can't multitask, and something had to give and sorry it was APUG, I'll try to keep up in future Scouts' honour, dib dib, dib.

smudge - it took me 30 seconds to find this

you lazy git

...and put a slice of cheesecake on the pillow?!

Thats MR. VERY Lazy Git to you Leon but you may call me Git. Dave you forgot to mention keeping my Guinness cool and the bed better be warm!!! You could alway detail Frank that honour, bless him. Still not too sure if I can even make it yet a my shift rota is about to change and I don't know if I'm off yet, and I daren't ask for any lieu time as I still owe about 130 hours to be paid back by the end of March. Well I know it's only 2 o'clock but I'm off to bed 'cos I'm on night shift tonight, Oh Joy!!! Thanks for the info Leon, Dave and Frank your sarcasm has been noted..........

Thanks chaps, I hope I can too, Frank don't you have anything to add???????

Warming your bed falls outside my area of responsibility, however I'm prepared to store as much Guinness as you like...!

Well, we could get some good shots of extremely unhappy brass monkeys...

Refer weather problems to Barry, he's organising that aspect.

The weather will be just fine, you know that you only get showers in April?

Changeable weather makes for good clouds (ducks).

Now, Pub interiors, there's a great project.

Barry
(Bringing his wellies, umbrella and windproof, so it will be dry and warm)

See, told you Barry has it covered, so stop worrying about the weather; it will suit someone.
Now what you should be doing is sorting out the photographs that you intend bringing with you to impress the rest of us, or for that matter those that you want help with. So, plenty of pictures please, I for one want to see what the rest of you have been up to.

As I haven't been on one of these meets before it might be helpful if an 'old hand', so to speak, could let us know what to expect. I was just planning to load my boot up with photographic equipment, film and the odd item of spare clothing and trundle on down. However, the thought of showing of my prints gets me all in a tiss. OK, not really, but I will have to sort through a load an make sure I bring down a good selection.

Brian

Worry not Brian, it's just a way of filling part of an evening; the bit between dinner and bed. It stimulates conversation in a very informal way, and it's always interesting to see what others are up to photographically. It's not competitive in any way, so no pressure. I shall bring a few big prints, as well as some of my PPC entries, so that you can read how my pictures fare in that circle. Prints just get passed around the group, you don't have to get up and talk about them, although you can if you want too.

Hi Brian,

The UK Gatherings are very chilled affairs. (If Barry doesn't sort the weather you can take that literally! I've seen Manfrotto tripods get blown over at a Gathering before now!)

The evenings are usually spent lingering over ale, food, ale, prints, ale and genial discussion. And ale. The days are generally spent wandering around, dodging inclement weather and looking for something photogenic on which to drop a shutter.

As Dave said, prints are just handed around during one of the evenings. It's a great opportunity to see the different styles that are kicking around, but nothing to be stressed about. The atmosphere is very relaxed and it's a good place to ask for help with anything that's giving you problems - I generally do!

Not sure how much I'll be showing this time around, though. I'll try and bring something, but God knows what!
