OS = Win10 x64
browsers = Firefox x64, IE x64

on computer #1, FF x64 with and w/o proxy. Is irritatingly SLOW.

on computer #2, FF x64, proxy. Login screen runs LONG, till I kill it.
on computer #2, FF x64, no proxy.
- If is log in w/o selecting "stay logged in" it just sits there spinning, till I kill the window. It will log in when I select "stay logged in."
- It is misbehaving. Selected a forum and it just sits there spinning.

on computer #2, IE x64, no proxy.
- Seems to be working fine. But when first tried to log in, it sat there spinning for what seemed like minutes, before I killed the window.
- Just got this error "Hmm, we can't reach this page" when clicking on a forum. So performance is very inconsistent, sometimes it works, other times it just sits there.

OK, I am trying to post this, and it is not posting ... ARGH!!!!

OK, it posted without any indication that it posted, so I hit "post" again.

4 different computers, 3 diff browsers on each and two different ISPs and I'm getting nothing but instantaneous access across the board. It seems like it has to be local to you or your ISP. Do you have any issues with this forum? https://xenforo.com/community/
Are you sure you are not running any security that might be blocking Java and other website scripting? Are you running any browser plugins that use caching systems?
Another thing you can try is creating a fresh account on APUG to rule out a corrupt user account (but that's unlikely).

tonight, so far, in same location, everything is working for me. This morning it was near hopeless. I haven't used this computer all day. Don't know what changed here or there, but it is instantaneous now!

Hard to pin down. If APUG goes funny again try to open your computers system monitor and see if anything is draining your CPU usage or disk.

Photo.net runs fine.
Flickr runs fine.
FPGeeks runs fine. (FountainPenGeeks)
Flourishes forum runs fine. (another pen forum)
xenforo runs fine.

DPUG is also SLOW. Makes me think APUG and DPUG are on the same system.

Norton might be blocking stuff, I don't know.
But it is curious (or coincidental) that APUG ran fine until a couple days ago, then the response just fell into a hole.
