I just got a call from The Kippure Lodge to say their Christmas party for Friday 5th has been cancelled and as a result the bar will not be open for us

There is a bar (Mooneys) about five minutes drive away and the lady said she can book taxis for us if we wanted to go there. Other wise we can cancel our bookings if we want. What say you?

Edit: Forgot to say she will open the bar if there are 10 of us but at present there are only 7 booked in.

Yes I agree but I just rang her back to say there is another four people joining us that evening but not staying in the Lodge so that brings the numbers up. She is going to check if that is ok with the manager and come back to me. She thinks it should be fine though.

Just been down to the bridge today, river was like a torrent due to heavy downpour. Note: For anyone coming from the Dublin direction, on the road to Blessington when you see the first sign for Kilbride slow down and keep an eye out for the turn which comes up very quickly and is hard to see. For those of us who are not staying overnight, any time set for arrival/meet up? P.S. Bring wellies! Regards Brian

Hi everyone, sorry I've been awol at the moment as I'm up to my eyes in work..
I just talked to them down at the Lodge.. they said we would need to guarantee 10 people for the bar or else they'll have to charge us for it.
She offered to call a taxi for us to bring us to the bar a few minutes away and then back again if we didn't have the 10... We just have to let them know our decision before then.
Would it be easier to just hop a taxi amongst us, or is anyone close by joining us for a pint on Friday night?

As an aside.. I cannot believe this is next week!

I am thinking about films and chemicals... is there anyone else that needs something, so we can share the shipping costs?

I'm heading home for Christmas (home being Blighty) and hoping to stock up as I'm taking the car. If you want to order stuff (ie Silverprint/retro)and have it delivered to my english address I have no problem bringing it back over. I'll also be going via Dublin-Holyhead (and stopping in Dublin at the inlaws for a day or two on my return) so you don't have to come down to Cork to collect...

If this helps at all let me know next weekend
