I have read in another post varoius inquries about another conference this year. I have spoke to a couple of people who are planning to attend but in another thread it seems that the Elevator Gallery in Toronto will be offering a series of Traditional and hybrid workshops but are not hosting an APUG conference even though as recently as September posts in that thread seemed to confirm that such a conference would again be held in Toronto.

I think a lot of folks would want to know if there is going to be a conference similar to last years or not, so they can either plan to attend it or various other conferences or workshops that might be more conveinent to there respective locations.

Also I know that J&C had talked about hosting a mini-conference this spring. If an APUG conference is no longer scheduled, this information will probably help them in deciding about going ahead.

Elevator is not in a position to host a 2007 large event ,John Callow has moved to Vancover, and without his envolvemnet I would be sunk.
We are indeed planning *but not yet confirmed* a smaller event. I have been hesitant to plug the idea here on APUG as this event will have a digital element to it and quite frankly I am not keen on the raging digital debate that we get trying to promote a mixed *hybrid* confernce here on APUG. Our working platform involves this digital element and shutting down for 2 weeks is not practical for us without being able to involve the hybrid aspect of our lab.
I have spoken to the J&C group in October and informed them that Elevator would not be the host for a large conference and that we would probably move forward with smaller venues. From what I heard J&C wanted to take on this role for 2007.
To run the conference we need more lecture hall space and our lab is too small to handle the crowds that this conference generated.
If a group of APUGers in the GTA want to be the organizers and have our lab as a resource by all means Elevator will be involved, but I cannot do it without major help and commitment from within the APUG community.
