clayne: so was I. Agfa APX 100/400 has been very consistent down through the years and in or around 2004 Agfa has changed it and the new film had slightly longer development times. What has changed? This new APX had different base (slightly thiner to my feel), I can't say about the emulsion (but possibly some changes there), different packaging, different, extended processing times...My impression was that Retro was this "last evolution" of APX...This seem to be consistent with the letter from Rollei-Maco marketing manager Mr. Junghans posted above by RobertV:

Die "alten" APX-Emulsionen verlangten kürzere Entwicklungszeiten als die "NEW"-Version die noch im Jahr 2005 durch die Agfa eingeführt wurde. I have also checked the development chart for Rodinal / R09 ONE SHOT, as per Maco's web page. It actually quotes, as would be expected, very similar/identical processing times for both (APX and Retro) films and these are consistent with the processing times for "last evolution" of APX...I have emailed Maco about this confusion
