Application to add Exif to scanned images

Hi there.
I wrote a little GUI on top of exiftool for tagging my scanned images with date, camera, lens, iso, copyright and other keywords in a batch. If any of you have use for it, please feel free to download. It's available at Dead Link Removed and is of course free.

Windows only for now, but a Linux version can be made quite easily if there's interest.

If you can put together a buildable source, I could probably run it in X11 on my Mac. And it really would be quite useful.

Thanks for the link Ian. I searched for a program like this before I wrote my own, but this one escaped me..

Stephanie: The program is written in Lazarus (a delphi/pascal language) and it can be compiled straight into a carbon application, so there's no need for x11. I just need access to a mac to compile it and test it.. I'll try to bribe my brother to let me borrow his macbook..

I use exiftools extensively and anything that makes life easy with it is welcome.

No: can anyone explain to me what exif fields do I have to set to make colour-management aware apps use AdobeRGB (1998) as the profile for my scanned images?


I know, I know: hybridphotoyaddayadda: look, this is not a "digital photography question", just a simple programming one.

Everytime I set what I think it should be, GIMP goes spastic trying to convert it to its own AdobeRGB (1998)...

I managed to get access to Mac OS X (intel) for a short while and it seems like I got the program to work. Some minor changes in the GUI had to be made for the Mac but the functionality is the same as on the Windows version.

Note that the mac version requires that exiftool is installed (the windows version bundles it) and that the Mac version really is a Windows app in disguise and therefore doesn't really behave or look as typical mac application.

Please have a go: Dead Link Removed and please let me know if there are some issues. I had very short time to test it on the mac...

One critique I have for both of the apps is that neither have fields to list the scanner information - what scanner was used, what settings, etc...

I think that the scanners would use the same exif tags as the camera information (Make and Model), so having both the camera and the scanner is not that easy. You could of course add that information in the keywords section instead.
