I just ordered a backup one from B&H. It might be one of the last available brand new. If anyone wants to get one of these, new, I can email you a link. It doesn't show up in a search at the B&H website.

Steve- Ive just picked up this thread.
I used a mjuII for about 7 years as a 'travel anywhere' camera. Its small size was the attraction and a pal of mine in Canada used two stylus epics (same camera different badge)one for colour and one for b&w. (Does 10x12 prints from them)
My own camera has had the meter fail - which sadly is my experience with all my olympus cameras over the years.
As for your point. I experienced a similar light ingess on one film only . Only afterwards I suspected that the casette was not properly seated in its compartment and that this meant that insufficient pressure on the reminder window seal caused light to get in that way. It never happend again as I always carefully checked the cassette when loading up.

A small red gel and a piece of blue tack.

I had thought about this but doesn't the lens move out and in when taking a shot? If I am right then wouldn't a small pice of red gel over the lens prevent the movement or be knocked off?

The only solution I can think off would be to have a gel holder sufficiently far in front of the lens to avoid this and attached to the camera somehow by means of maybe the tripod thread. However once you had done this then you haven't got a portable miniature point and shoot any longer.

If you cut the filter to a disc shape the same size as (or smaller than) the front of the lens that would work. There is a sufficient amount of flat surface to allow it to be stuck on, and there's a reasonable gap between the front of the lens unit and the sliding cover.

Thanks. I hadn't realised that the gap was sufficient. The sliding cover seems to fit so closely. So fiddly, especially if you want to use say two different filters but do-able

I had one of these. Bought it about eighteen months ago. Liked it so much bought two more. Just in case. While they are still available. For when one does fail. But to date no problems at all so, I'm afraid, no advice on fixing light leaks.
