Anyone using Flexicolor C-41 Fix for black and white

Hi, Is anyone of you using Flexicolor C-41 for fixing black and white film and paper?

If so what are the dilutions you are using?
I have a gallon jug of Flexicolor C-41 fix, and want to use it for black and white paper and film fixing.

Also, anyone know how long an open gallon will last?

Just use the same strength for b&w film that is used for color. Dilute that 1:1 for paper.
I use 200 ml of concentrate per liter of fixer solution for film.

I dilute the concentrate 1:7 for film and paper.

PE has weighed in on this before, but basically you have to double the concentration that it's used in for color film, since B&W has way more silver than color film. I have at least a case of C41 fixer (4 gallons of concentrate) that I will probably use some for B&W at some point. It lasts seemingly forever in concentrate form, well over a year or two.

I don't know if the actual dilution is all that important. A rule of thumb is to fix for twice clearing time of the film. Total time is usually no more than ten minutes for me with the dilution I mentioned above. For shorter times a stronger dilution could be used.

For film, use C41 1:3 and for paper use 1:9. Use it with testing for silver and hypo retention to insure proper dilution and activity. Do not use B&W fixer for color though. You are on your own for fix and wash times otherwise.

I have used c41 fixer for B&W films based on the 1:3 above and it worked fine.
