I know it's a large and heavy lens, but it appears to cover a range that sometimes would be just right for me. I also hear raves of its optical quality (I have no complaints about any PE lens I have anyways).

Filter size 95mm is not a problem for me. And clearly a tripod set-up and as such somewhat restrictive in use, goes with territory.

How happy are you with it?

I do have it, and have got some very nice shots with it, but the weight and size keeps me from using it. I with I could give you more/better details, but I honestly haven't used it terribly much. Oh...the build quality is excellent as well.

Once of the Schneider zooms is in a similar range, but I've never used it.

@abruzzi Thanks. At least a confirmation on the size / weight . If I go for one it be likely under some return guarantee for same reason. But I use a Canon FD 400 which is quite a chunk itself, and also Bronica's 300 for the EC. The latter not as heavy as this zoom, but still tripod only.
