Has anyone used an "Aereon anti-static film cleaner"? Gimmick, or practical device in the darkroom? In any event, worth the $17 + shipping it'll cost me, without the optional air compressor? Right now I'm using cans of compressed air and an antic-static brush that, for the most part, work well.

Thanks for any and all sundry advice, Graham

Hey Graham, for 17 bucks, how can you go wrong:smile: If it doesn't work, it is an interesting shape:smile::smile:

Yeah, that's what I thought (although it'll be 27 bucks with shipping). However, that philosophy has netted me a closet full of superfluous gear! I was hoping that someone might have actually used one of these in a lab; I couldn't find much info on these on the web. G.

Just realized this post should probably have gone into "Darkroom Equipment" instead of Enlarging. My bad; moderator should feel to move it there, if necessary.

I got one (bought it new in the -80ies for maybe $300 or so) and I do feel it makes a difference.
Just don't forget to turn it on before using it, else you are just brushing the negatives. (And to turn if off after the session.)
When I bought mine there was a small round plastic stick about 1/8", which was intended to rinse the brushes by dragging the stick back 'n forth a few times between the brushes. Of course that stick disappeared, but use whatever similar for cleaning the brushes.

Thanks, Björn! I've bought it (further to the "it's only 17 bucks, what do I have to lose" philosophy) and will post a quick report once it arrives. G.
