Well, there was certainly a total moron involved on one side of the transaction.

I have bought from Morgan an number of times and never had any problems. Plus, the quality of his product is top notch, both in material and fit. He is a typical guy serving a niche market, a one man show balancing a business along with everything else people normally deal with. We're lucky to have folks like him.

wow, you got what you purchased for. You want applause?

The money that he stole from people over the years is insane. I’ve been following threads about that “company” for abiut 15 years now. Always the same: a lot of scammed customer and a few happy ones that got away with a “fast service” thanks to the only thing he has available in the house: griptac.

the moron on one side of the transaction was HIM for stealing MY MONEY.

I have been hesitant to order from camera leather.com. For as long as I can remember, he has had mostly bad reviews. I have used aki-asahi many times and have never had a bad product or any complaints. I recently re-covered a Canonet QL19 with leatherette I bought from hugostudio.com. It turned out nice and there was no problemwith the quality or the delivery.

Another pic showing awful fit.

Look at the screw on the front right face of the camera. The gaps at the lens mount area. How it is too short around the bottom edge.

My Film doors finally came back after like two months. He Jacked up the pressure plate on one of the three by leaving a bunch of white residue spots that can NOT be removed with alcohol or distilled water.

Some people are just not professional in the work they do.

UPDATE: I obtained a positive resolution to this job: Morgan successfully removed the gooey residue from 3 Nikon F100 doors. Regarding the jacked up film presure plate that came as a result of the repair: He also sent me a near new, unblemished film pressure plate to swap out.

He was unprofessional in communicating with me regarding a C3 leather kit I was looking at, sending me short, brusque non-answers to my questions regarding what version I needed.

Eventually I just decided to take the risk and order what I thought was the right version (there were so many different C3's and little clear nomenclature as to some of.the earlier ones. Mine is a 1949 model that's apparently considered a "prewar," if you can buy that! I guess it means "prewar type" as opposed to literally manufactured before the war. No badge, film type reminder on the rear door, et cetera.)

It came and fitted fine, but I think that's not going to be indicative of how his products fit more difficult contours, since every piece of leather on a C3 is flat. It did smell slightly of burnt leather as he cuts with a laser, but that faded.

So in other words, nobody has the right to say anything positive about Morgan? Plus, do NOT lie about his products, Griptac is NOT the only material he offers.

I won't even try to address the rest of your comment.

Relatively old thread, but as it's still useful, I'll add a data point:

I just (first week of December 2021) purchased two kits from Morgan to re-cover a pair of Hasselblad backs, one A12 and one C12. His communication was great--prompt replies to multiple e-mails--the kit was very reasonably priced, the fit was perfect (I chose the leatherette that was most similar to the original standard black Hasselblad covering), the cuts were extremely precise. Some other users here may have indeed been hard done by him, but I am entirely happy and satisfied, and would certainly purchase from him again.

I just received two vintage rangefinder cameras which I sent to Morgan for new outer coverings. The work was professionally executed. Morgan also kept me informed, from the delivery of my cameras to him, undertaking the work, and letting me know that the cameras were done and shipped. I would certainly rely on Morgan for his help in the future. Very satisfied overall.

I recently had a good experience as well on two sets of coverings for Minolta Autocords that needed customization. Reasonable response time and shipment.
