Have you tried contacting Stephen Gandy at CameraQuest, the U.S. distributor?
I just took a look at my copy and it may clear the arm but considering how hard it is to find someone to repair the M5, I wouldn't risk it.
No I haven't. But that is an idea. Not sure if he still sells the V1, but maybe he has notes.
p.s later today I will compare the depth protrusion to other lenses which work fine on the M5. There are lenses - like the 7Artisans 50 1.1 - which must not be used on the M5 as they will hit the meter stalk.
Here is the 15 4.5 Heliar LTM next to a 28 2.8 Elmarit-M. Both are at minimum focal distance and the Voigtlander has the lens cap on to bring the two lenses to approximately equal length. I haven't measured them but here is a visual reference:
The Voigtlander looks like it extends a bit more into the body. It may not hit the M5 stalk but it sure looks to close to try. Maybe a broken CL would be a good test body.
