University Products is offering free shipping (CONUS only) on Lineco mat board, their house brand, until next Tuesday. The price for the 100% rag board seems pretty good, especially when shipping is free. Has anyone used this product? I've used white Alpharag Artcare in the past and am curious as to how Lineco compares. Unfortunately the duration of this offer is not long enough for me to get samples from UP to see for myself.

I haven't used Lineco mat board but I have used their products to make some hand-made books and the materials were very good. I know they are carried by artist supply stores. I have been using mat board from Print File which coincidentally is showing up on my screen as i type this. I suppose their boards are good since they carry a full line of bookbinding supplies as well.

hi steve

i have some of their matboard purchased through another supplier
it is OK can't complain. i have also been using their linen tape, archival corners ( clear )
photo mount cards, rice and wheat paste and probably a few other things in their line-up
( some, since about 1985? ) and can't complain ... some of these things are bookbinding supplies
like jeffreyg speaks of, but i typically have purchased them locally, or through gaylord brothers. the only thing
i have gotten directly from university products are photo mount cards to submit habs-documentations on. they are great...

No direct experience with that board, but I trust the Lineco name. Been around a long time, and I have some of their boxes, and other book-binding type supplies. All well made.

UP has been one of my regular suppliers for archival supply for a long time, a very good outfit IMO. Free shipping on board is quite a deal.

My company Frame Destination selected their products over a decade ago due to their reputation in the picture framing industry. We have enjoyed doing business with them over the years and I have got to know many of their staff and the owner. They are all good people to work with. We do not resell their mat board because we already had plenty of other lines in place when they added them, however, I know they believe in providing quality products.
