Paul's Photo in Torrance has one, with what I think is the 38mm lens.
I was picking up my film just as they were closing and saw it on the way out.

When I was in high school, my girlfriends mother had one. She let me use it for a couple of months and I almost sold the Nikon. What’s not to love about a seventy two exposure roll?

How much were they asking, and did you try it out to see if it was working properly. The issue so many have is that the shutter freezes, or at least the mirror freezes in the open position, locking up the shutter.

Best,
-Tim

As with all of these era cameras, they will need a proper CLA eventually and they'll be good for a number more years . . .

Ageed, problem is finding anyone who can, and will, do a CLA on these old Pen F cameras.

If it does need it, I got my CLA from John @ Zuiko.com
He also added the inline diode so you can use standard batteries and calibrated the meter to match. Great job and still pefect many years running. Check his workload first if you are impatient as I believe he does this as secondary income.

I am certain any competent old camera repair tech can do CLA on these and others.

John won't service the original Pen F anymore, I contacted him about mine a couple months ago. For now, and I'm not sure how long this will be, he will still service the Pen FT and FV, depending on parts availability. And yes, turn around time is pretty long.

Guess I got really lucky. Might have been one of the last ones.

I was leaving as they were closing for the day so did not have time to check it out. I think the price tag for camera + lens was $375.
The good thing about buying from a store is if there is a problem it can be returned etc.

I checked out the FT at Paul's last week. Superb condition, no spots in the VF, the 40 1.4 lens was in better shape than mine. Comes with the 25mm f4 also - in super shape.
Downside - meter does not work. I checked this with a battery w adapter that I brought with me.
$399.

I wanted to buy just the 25mm lens, but they would not cut me a deal. Wanted $300 just for the 25mm! Pass...

Prices have gone a little wild it seems...

$399 for the FT w/ the two lenses is good. Apart from the meter not working - which makes it a regular F or FV I guess - everything else was excellent.
The VF was bright, dust and spot free. No dings on the camera etc.
But saying $300 just for the 25mm lens if that is all I wanted is too much.

Micro 4/3 crowd found our lenses.

This is where you propose a generous counter-offer of $35 for the body and the 40mm.

The meter in the FT eats a bit of light from the viewfinder, otherwise it's as functional as an F or FV.
