I have some c-prints and b/w rc's that I'd like to have bound in a conventional cloth hardcover. I plan to cold mount them to cotton rag and have cellophane interleaves. Anyone have any ideas about who might do a good job at this in nyc?
hi there
if it doesn't have to be nyc you might look into
portfolio box in pawtucket ri.
they do custom bookbinding, make portfolio and presentation books as well
as boxes. their rates are very good, and craftsmanship can't be beat.
i would also suggest taking classes at the center for book arts too.
when i was in high school i learned by getting bookbinding merit badge.
i still make photo books by hand, and it isn't too hard.
if you want to try a little bit yourself keith smith has written
a series on making books
and the
franz zeier book is really good too.
good luck!
