EDIT 8/1/20 11:23 AM CT: Never mind. It didn't turn black, The scale fell off and there was black under it. Now, whenever you embarrass yourself by saying something stupid, you can point to this post and say to yourself, "Well, at least I'm not as dumb as Dave Krueger!" LOL!
---------------------- END OF EDIT
I recently got a second ZoneMaster II and noticed that the tone scale on my old one, purchased in 2011, had turned totally black. I think the scale is made on an inkjet printer or from a traditional wet darkroom print of a density scale and then glued onto the Zonemaster along the top edge.
I'm thinking of making a digital photo of the scale on the new one and gluing an inkjet printed version onto the old one. I think I could probably adjust the tones to match the original scale reasonably well, but I don't rely on the scale as much more than a rough approximation in any case.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else had had this happen.
