They are in! :smile::smile::smile:
I miss it already. :sad::sad::sad:
They charged me for pre-paid rolls?!?! :blink:
(are Dwayne's no longer honouring pre-paid (red) canisters?)

I've read that Kodak quit honoring all mailers last year, and expired ones (the dated variety anyway) the year before that, but I could be wrong here.

Did you include the mailers or just the prepaid canisters?

Dwayne's stopped honoring prepaid canisters via Lausanne on the 23rd of December. If you sent them direct to Dwayne's, they would charge you regardless of the prepaid status of the film/

I'm not sure when Dwayne's stopped honouring Canadian prepaid cannisters. The last one I sent in (early 2010 I think) wasn't honoured, but the previous one (late 2008?) was.

I wonder what the expiry date was on the last pre-paid Canadian rolls?

I should have checked, but I think it was something like 1998. Judging by the magenta shift, it could have been 1898. The last rolls I sent in prior to this went through Qualex, which shows how long ago that was. These were rolls that my sister found in a cupboard at a research lab where she works. They told her to dump everything, so I got 26 rolls of KM25 and a bunch of Elite Chrome.

I just got notice that mine, which they received on the 29th, was just shipped to me. Looks like the last of it should be shipped out within the next few days. I've got six rolls of 35mm and two rolls of double 8 coming. Time to fire up the movie projector!

Order that shipped Tuesday (with notification on Monday) arrived today, and all the slides look great.

Expecting one more tomorrow, or Saturday, and then I'll be a very sad panda.

Dwayne's ceased honouring pre-paid mailers from Canada after 31 December 2009. I learnt this the hard way in February when Krystal phoned me and asked how I'd like to pay for my 19 or so rolls. Of those, all but about four were red canister pre-paid from ca. 12/1999 expiry.

I just got mine back today, according to the paper they had received it on the 27th.
My first 3 rolls of it. Wonderful stuff. Now I see what I've missed out on. Bummer

For someone who noted they felt a mixed relationship with Kodachrome as a transparency film, I cannot wait to see what came from your valedictory run with it. :smile:

My first batch of 24 rolls arrived this afternoon. Another 12 will eventually follow. Everything I was doing is now halted for this first inspection of the uncut rolls. I've only made it through 11 of the 24. I'm sharing my reactions on Twitter: @accozzaglia and @KodachromeTO, in the event you enjoy vicariousness or would prefer not to work for the rest of your Friday.

Children, I'm having what we call a "special moment." Hopefully you'll get to experience this feeling one day when you become a grownup. No, I won't describe it to you.

Got mine yesterday. 5 rolls; 3 KR64 and one 25 and one 200. All gorgeous! Damn, that was my first and only roll of 25 and I gotta say, that stuff is just awesome. I should've known sooner!!!

I wouldn't expect much. It was all old. I had just gathered the rolls over the years, mostly as gifts, and did not want to let them turn into b/w-only films. One roll was actually a roll I bought new, and I shot it about three years ago. The others expired in the late '80's and early '90's and were unshot until right before the deadline. I threw them into my Canon point and shoot and went to town for a few days around the holidays. Nothing but family snapshots and one attempt at a self portrait.

The double 8 came with my Nizo camera, and I shot it just to try the thing out. I may get a few neat shots for "artistic" purposes.

I expect absolutely nothing good. I just didn't want to let the film sit there through the deadline. I also wanted to participate in the "historic" event, though I would never have paid the prices that fresh K64 was going for.

You never know. The 8mm could be fun.

Towards the very end, I had people effectively throwing their unused Kodachrome at me for next to nothing or nothing (plus postage). I doubt those last 18 rolls would have happened were it not for this.

Speaking of which: lxdude, I can't wait to share with you what good came forth from those three rolls. :smile:

Got mine Today, they received it on the 29th, billed me Thursday the 20th, and I had it in the projector and on the screen tonight. I have heard that people that requested scans are not getting there film back quite as quickly.

Got mine yesterday too. Will scan them as best I can, but grrr they are impossible. As a Kodachrome 25 lover and 64 hater, I was pleasantly surprised by some of the slides. Colors are shifted, as usual with this film, but sometimes in fun ways.

I also received mine yesterday the 22nd, billed on the 21st.

My results sucked, it was mostly me, out of focus. I had a few usable images, here is my second to last Kodachrome shot forever.
