I rewired my older Seal heat press because the old cloth-bound wiring was looking a bit ragged. I used a new grounded power cord and the wiring is correct, but I didn't pay enough attention to the position of the thermostat... I measured the lowest setting & it is running at 300 degrees! Anybody know how to reset that?

TIA!

No, but Seal became part of Hunt then part of Elmer's Products. Both Hunt and Elmer's still exist separately so don't make any assumptions about numbers when you start finding them.

They have a tech support line. I have no idea where the number is right now -I usually have to dig to find it.

Hi, if you mean how to set the knob, I would take the knob off. Then turn the shaft all the way towards the highest setting. Then put the knob back on with the mark pointing to the highest setting.

Jon- Thanks for the info... I got it (Cecil) back working.

We call it Cecil, because it looks like Cecil The Sea Serpent when its lights are on & its mouth is open!

I recently acquired an old Seal Masterpiece 350 and am hoping to get it working. I could use some help understanding how the platen electrical works. This unit has been refurbished once before and the original thermostat is gone. I found a pdf of the original manual but there isn't a picture of the electrical panel.

I bought my Seal 500T from a frame shop that was closing. It had a faulty thermostat but I managed to find a new one and replaced the old one. Suggest you locate a new replacement thermostat. You will need it sooner or later.
