New 3d cameras? I was out at peace park in Hiroshima last weekend and a guy and his freind came up to me asking if it was a new 3d camera. I kind of laughed and explained the camera (yashicamat) and how it operated to him.

I always get the "wow, I remember my dad had one of those and it was amazing". I got mine from my dad and my child will get it from me for sure, so that's about as good as it gets as far as I'm concerned. Enjoy.

I have had mine for a few days and shot it at an job along with my 500cm and FE, everybody was loving it. It made people actually smile instead of walking away when they saw a camera.

In Spain last month two guys in Seville came up to me and began speaking to me in Spanish, when I looked blank one switched to perfect English saying, great a Yashica, I'm hoping to buy one soon.

Similarly in Istanbul last Autumn some stopped to talk, ended up asking if he could buy the camera off me, he offered me a very good price as well.

I have been asked last year by a couple of teenage girls when I was in the city centre shooting with a Mamiya TLR with a prism on it, an L grip and the 180mm lens, if I was From the local TV station, they thought it was a video camera.

I have had 2 "Is that a 3-D camera?", 6-7 "I remember Dad having one of those when I grew up" and way too many "Do they still make film for those? Where do you get it developed?" questions. Almost no one realizes I am taking their picture which is why I like using it for street photography.

I was photographing with a Yashica TLR around a construction site and all of a sudden--one of the workers starts making a beeline for me. I was expecting him to hassle me for taking photos of the site, but no--he breaks into a smile and starts talking about how his father had the same kind of camera. Everybody seems to love an old TLR.

Actually, the 3D camera under current production by 3dworld that I have seen is aclose as most in the current media environments might ever get to a TLR. It is a TLR with the first letter shtanding in for tripple, not twin. Two taking lenses, one viewing lens.

Dave Nardi, who pops up here from time to time, has one. The 3D 120 6x6 (i think) paired slides he showed me were mind blowing in the detail and depth inducing experience.

I've had a couple of people say "nice camera" even when a Rolleiflex that I use was in its case. If you walk about London with one round your neck with the case closed, every fifth person stares at it; older people with a knowing look, younger ones out of curiosity. I don't like to go around too long with the case open for fear of causing an accident or something.

I had a very confused grandma of a girlfriend demand that it was one of those old box cameras. To which I replied no its a TLR, its a little newer and more advanced than a box camera. To which she replied by going into the attic and finding her old Brownie and telling me "See? Same thing."

I always feel it is a compliment to be asked questions about the equipment I am using and take time to explain what i am doing and why, today I was on location with a Deardorff V8 and nearly every person asked what I was doing and what sort of camera it was, I showed them the camera,got people to look at the ground glass and told them all about the history of the camera, it cost me nothing the work was still fine and hopefully the people who were interested got something out of the exchange, I feel this is so much a better approach than telling someone to F*** Off,

Recently I've been getting lots of looks on the street, but no one openly coming up to me - like attractive, single young women

Last weekend in a nearby park an older gentleman feeding the pigeons said to me "Rolleiflex!" Turns out he's a kindred-spirit (read: film user.) He told me he was a Nikon, Leica and Contax fan. He showed me a Nikon pouch he'd bought.

"Know what this is?" he asked
"It's for a flash, isn't it?" I said
"Yes, but I'm going to put my onigiri in it. Everyone knows the Nikon name, I'll be cool! It's just like a woman's brand bag!" he said with a laugh. Heh, great guy

I'm an atypical Italian. Do not love soccer at all. I'm completely devoted to Rugby Football. Once a player now a coach.
And also do not love hi-tech gadgets. I'm on classical photography more than ever.
My close friend is the exact contrary. He loves soccer, hates Rugby, loves Iphones and technology in general.
On friday night we were at a live concert. I was there with my beloved Contax 167 and fuji reala.
While i was shooting he told me: "i'm pretty sure rolls and rugby will come to an end very soon".
The day after i discovered the new Kodak Portra and Italy defeated France 22-21........
