In the past I used to scan Fuji crystal archive glossy without any issue. recently switched to Fuji DPII matt paper for printing.
But when scanning this on my epson 10000xl scanner, i'm getting lots of white speckles, almost seems like the papers texture (bit like pearl paper) reflects the scannerlight on certain bumps
on the texture.

Moving the print an inch still gives reflections in exact the same spots.
Rotated the print 180 degrees and they show up in different spots, so after scanning rotated it back 180 degrees to overlay in darken mode on the 1st scan.
However (I I think) due to the stepper motor not being 100% the same over the whole surface, both prints are slightly distorted from eachother, so this solution doesnt work.

Any tips or ideas I could try next to try to eliminate these speckles (not dust) in the scan phase?

See attachment.they're also extra pronounced after I apply the ICC profile i made for this papertype.
also this is scanned at 600DPI

Thanks.

Welcome to Photrio, @mrtn-03 !

I'm afraid I have no solution to this problem. I recognize it and the only workarounds I could imagine, would be:
1: Wet mounting the print when scanning it. Obviously, this is a tricky proposition to begin with, and can become rather messy.
2: Not using a scanner for digitization, but rather use a camera-based repro setup.

I'd consider option #2.
