where has this been announced?
CNP=Colour Negative Paper - the thread title is missing 'Paper' - that paper production will be moving from Harrow to Colorado has been well documented on here.

Who knows a Big shot at Alaris that can get us cut sheets in 8x10,11x14, and 16x20??

I'd suggest asking Alaris directly. I asked a question to the effect of whether they'd consider reintroducing cut sheets on the Emulsive Q&A with Alaris - as far as I know, the answers have not yet been published. The more interest shown, the more likely they'll listen - and it would need to be decently large quantities of the larger sheets to probably make it worth their while - 16x20 etc. The Windsor plant already makes the wider rolls of RA4 anyway.

Yes you are correct . I missed that one . If a moderator can add Paper to the title might make more sense .
Mike
You probably need to draw your request to the attention of the moderators, because otherwise they won't see it except by chance (or if they happen to be otherwise interested in the thread).
Best way is to click on the "Report this Post" link at the bottom left corner of your post, and then type in your request in the window that opens up. They probably would appreciate it if you told them what the complete thread title should be after the amendment.

What's the emulsive Q&A?

Most likely this: http://emulsive.org/

Thanks for the heads up - I have subscribed to the site.

I read your post on the emulsive site. You hit the nail on the head. I can't understand why Alaris doesn't offer cut sheets or have someone convert it for them. There's nothing wrong with Fuji crystal archive but it's not a nice heavy stock paper . And I would really like to try out some of Kodak Alaris' newer papers
Thanks for the information , Best Regards Mike

Title updated.

It may have something to do with Eastman Kodak's experience. Near the end, they had subcontracted with a single individual (who I would guess was a retired EK employee) to do the cutting and packaging in his own home based business. That individual decided to retire completely and stop providing the service. Eastman Kodak looked at the dwindling volumes, and decided to stop providing the profuct in that form.

You're quite right, Lachlan. The community interview had to be put on hold for a short time but the questions have since been submitted to Alaris (along with those that missed the submission window), and I'm hoping to be able to publish a response at some point towards the end of Jan / beginning of Feb 2017.

I'll do my best to make sure your question is answered and there will also be an opportunity for you to ask the same, or a modified question to the Big K at some point later in 2017.

Hope that helps!

Lachlan, I'll be publishing the results from the Community Interview next week.

Matt, since your reply in Dec 2016 I note that Kodak has decided to re-introduce an E6 film and has not ruled out the re-introduction of Kodachrome(in whatever form this might be). Given the investment cost in so doing, I still find it difficult to work out why the re-introduction of cut sheets isn't at least cost effective or at least worthwhile from a customer service aspect in the same way that Ilford deemed it worthwhile to have annual LF runs.

I wonder if the Community Interview cited above will cover this matter?

The volumes Alaris, Motion and EKC are playing with these days are MUCH smaller than they were even just ten years ago, so each and every new, or resurrected product has to be considered from that perspective.

The three Kodaks are still very much in protection mode and conscious of not over stretching themselves. It'll be pigeon steps for a while but the main thing to remember is that they're still here, they're still producing film, and they're doing their best to ensure they still can for years to come. The interview should be release next week and I think you'll be satisfied with their response on custom ordering/sheet sizes.

In the meantime, you might be interested to know that FILM Ferrania have stepped up to the plate for a community Interview. Nothing is off the table, so have a think and as away: http://emulsive.org/articles/commun...nia-community-interview-submit-your-questions
