I'll second Garry. He's done CLAs and repairs for me on a number of occasions. Been very satisfied with his work, his price, and the turn-around time.

Good morning;

Doug Daily

He is old fashioned; he does not have a web site.

When he was in California, he worked in a shop that was diagonally across the street from EPOI. He does have some interesting stories to tell about working around and with the guys at EPOI. He has been keeping my Nikon F, F2, Nikomat and Nikkormat going for a few years now. John_Nikon_F also goes there.

I'll second Essex Camera. They worked on my Nikon F.

I have been tempted to ship some of my cameras and lenses off to Jersey, how fast is their turnaround? and How do your cameras hold up? USPS, UPS, and Fedex, are super rough on packages I receive and send out from New York City. Id have stuff packed super well randomly destroyed other times fine.

Also BTW I would have recommended Nippon Photo Clinic at 20th st or so, but the last time I bought in a older camera they took a week to get back to me, and said they did not know how to CLA it. really? pfft.

I don't know how their shipping is. I live close enough to drive there.

Anyone in the Bay Area that can do a CLA on a Nikon F? I do not want to ship it.
Thanks

For the record, the F2 maestro is Sover Wong:

Good morning;

While I am in Late Land, out here in Washington, I agree that the man who can work wonders on the Nikon Photomic light metering pentaprisms is Souver Wong in England. I think he bought the parts stock for them from their importer.

So far, Doug Daily at Camera Clinic out here has been able to keep mine going, but I know that his parts stock is getting smaller for the adjustable resistors. That has been the main part in the Photomic light meter that actually does wear out. Doug has been using an electronics component type of potentiometer lubricant that greatly reduces the wear and extends the longevity of the Photomic resistors that he has worked on. He can keep them going, but he may not be able to replace all truly dead ones now.
