Are there any canvas printing lab in Miami/Ft Lauderdale area you know and you can recommend?
I know there are not too many left. I would like to get canvas printing done locally...
Thanks!

hey haring

do you mean coating the canvas with liquid emulsion and printing on that ... olde school
or new fangled printing on canvas ?

if it is olde school, i didn't know there were places that did that
if it was new school ... check your PM box !
some of the people here might get cranky if i post that sort of stuff for you ...

John- there used to be people who would print images on canvas, even back in the pre-digital days. Have no idea how it was done. These days, lots of people offer the service as an ink print, but I wouldn't know who to send you to for that today, especially not in the Miami area. I don't like the look myself, so I've never invested the time and energy into finding out who offers it or what they charge.

often times it was silk screen with speedball
or liqid light .. i know there were other methods too .. what is old is new again

i know someone who used to paint canvas with emulsion and urethane
and it poorly fixed and was all yellowish ( he did portraits like this for people ! )
and it yellowed because of the urethane too .. he loved the old quality it offered

If you are talking about a textured paper there are a number of them. For printing, one place might be Pitman Photo on S. Dixie Highway (US 1) a few blocks south of the Falls Shopping Ctr. in a strip mall.
