I got worried by the "What is art?" part of the title, but thankfully the article doesn't dwell on that, focusing instead on the ethical questions and problems brought up by the use of AI, whether in photography or elsewhere.

Pretty good job by the journalist not to fall into the "is it still art" trap set up by the photographer. She stuck to the facts — "The images spit out by generative AI mediums are now incredibly realistic but they're made using data from other creators across the internet to compile the photo." — and went from there.

Is it possible to reduce an AI image to all the sources, to know exactly from what sources an image is made? Every image should have a list of source material, like a scientific paper. Else there should be a way to embed anti-AI code in digital materials...some code that causes AI to reject the source materials for use.
