Another New Guy

Well I bit the bullet and got a Speed Graphic from eBay. I’ve wanted to get into LF and now with the Ex gone I felt it was time to move on to something to fill my time while deployed. I have noticed that my photos have improved with the end of my marriage. No idea why.

So the camera will be here in a week or two, and in a twist of fate it will be pressed back in to military service. Film will be on the way soon. But with how far I am from any labs it’s going to be about a month from the time a take a photo until the time I see how it turned out (and how I totally messed up my first shots). So instant gratification this is not.

Welcome to the forum Kav and may I be the first to extend my great gratitude for your service!, Also, I have noticed that in times of high stress, emotional discord, or anything of that mind-altering nature that my images also improve. The best pictures I ever took was after a friends passing and my subsequent trip thereafter. Who knows.

Small update, The camera showed up today. It's in FAR better shape then I was expecting. And came with a ton of little extras. Film made it here also, so now it's time to get busy.
