Hi Folks,
I'm a Brit living in Norway. I have taken photographs since the early 80's. I have never owned a DSLR (Although in weak moments I borrow my sons D90:whistling: )

I Use two cameras today but own a few more. I have a Leica MP and 4 lenses. Plus I have a battered and loved Nikon F4s. I have recently begun to develop my own black and white films. I did this a lot in the 80's. However not having a darkroom I do 50-50 I scan my negatives on an Epson V700 and the rest is in Aperture 3 and Silver efex.
I found this forum thanks to the moderator of the Scandinavian Coffee developers forum directing me here.
Looking forwards to learn and share

All the best. Thanks for reading. See you on the forum David :0)

Hallo David. How's life in Norway? I've always wanted to live in Scandinavia and may do so sometime in the future.

How well does the Epson v700 perform?

Welcome to APUG

Welcome to APUG from someone who used to live in Asker near Oslo and wishes he still did.

You won't be short of subject matter in Norway!

Mike

What else can I say? Welcome to APUG David!

Welcome David - just keep quiet about that scanner.

Thank you all for your welcome. I must like living in Norway as I have lived here for 17 years now.
I'll keep quiet about the scanner and let you judge from my efforts

Hello David,

Welcome to APUG from St Paul, Minnesota, and Helsingborg, Sweden.

Nice portrait you posted!

Welcome on board David. I go on cruises to Norway every year because I love it (and the cooler climate) so much. Have you visited Svalbard? I've been there twice and didn't want to leave Ny Aalesund! Svalbard is much more beautiful than Groenland. I hope the natives can understand you! Whenever I visit I have to speak in Danish as they cannot understand my Norwegian (Bokmaal), and then they reply in Norwegian which I find easier to understand than Danish!

Have you learned any Nynorsk yet, so you can read Draumkvadet?

Here is Moes version from the 1890s:

[extract]

Han la seg ne um joleaftan,
sterkan svevnen fekk,
vakna 'kji fyrr um trettandagjen,
då folkkji at kjyrkjun gjekk.
Å de va Olav Åsteson,
som heve sovi so lengji.

Hi Thingy,

I have never been to Svalbard .However I'd like to. Yes the natives understand me I have lived here for 17 years and I lived 8.5 years in Denmark. I can understand Nynorsk spoken ,it is more of a problem if I have to read it :0).
In addition I do not write well in Norwegian .
I see from your sig you have an F4 …snap I have an F4s :0)

Hi David

I have just bought the F4..... what a lovely camera, and so much lighter than my Ebony 45SU!

You can see some of my images of Svalbard in the APUG Scandinavian group.... and practice your written Bokmaal.

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Regards

Steve

David,
What part of the country are you living in? I lived in Mandal for about a year doing some work with the shipyard there and I'm pretty sure that the wife gets tired of my telling her how much I loved being in Norway.
