I am learning my new/old ST701. I noticed that when the lenses are screwed tight, the little diamond showing the apeature setting is not centered on the top. It would take maybe another 1/4 inch of turn to be exactly at the top. It does this with all 4 lenses that I got with it, including two Asahi Glass lenses.

Were these cameras designed that way or is there a problem?

Is it anything to worry about?

Is it correctible?

Typical behaviour of screw mount cameras.

One reason why it was difficult to implement full-aperture metering on them.
