Another APUGger in Black and White Photography Magazine

Morning everybody! I'll attempt to clarify...

'My' magazine is called Black & White Photography, and yes, there's an American magazine called B&W, but there is no link between the two, they're entirely separate publications.

Over here the October issue is currently on sale, and that's the one that features Jorge's work. It should reach the US any day now, if it's not on sale already. Barnes & Noble and some branches of Borders stock it.

However, I've just signed off the last proofs of the November issue, and am about to start work on December, so I'm in Christmas mode already. In my world it'll be 2004 in about a fortnight...

The current one in the stores here in the states is the September issue on American Landscape.
It has some white flowers in a pond on the cover. Inside THAT issue is a nice article on my Route 30 project.

Indeed, George. I noticed that! But since the magazine had arrived two weeks before I saw it (I was away), I felt it could have been a bit late to draw attention to that. With Jorge's (admittedly smaller) entry, it was entirely fresh when I saw it.

Please accept my apologies for not commenting on your appearance earlier, and consider yourself duly congratulated.

It's still September at the Barnes and Noble on 82nd St. and Broadway in Manhattan, so I managed to pick up the issue with George Losse's entry last night, and I'm still looking forward to seeing Jorge's.

hmm, I may have to look into doing that, I usually pick them up at a local Hastings who still has 1 copy of August on the shelf and nothing else.

Congratulations Jorge!

As a person who has actually seen two of your Pt/Pd prints I can assure the folks here that you do indeed know what your are doing.

I have been meaning to email you and Thank-you personally for sending those prints out. No real excuse for not doing this with perhaps the exception of "Murphy's Law" of the busy get busier when there is so little time.

I will be emailing you in the very near future as I wish to ask you a variety of things about those prints. (I made notes ... )

As soon as I can find the magazine in Canada I will be purchasing a copy. Indeed a fine and just acknowledgment of a fine and talanted photographer/master printer !!!

Hope to see more of your work published in the future.

Thanks for the kind comments James, and certainly will try to answer your questions, but I am far from a master printer. Perhaps it might do good to post the questions here or in the alt printing forum. All that I have learned has been in great part thanks to Clay Harmon, Kerik, and others.

We here downunder just got the Sept issue (No 25)... haven't read it it yet, will do that over lunch today

I've got a suggestion to Ailsa.. make it about 4 times longer... I usually read cover-to-cover the day I get it (I go back and look at the pictures again later in the month)

We are not trying to kill you. We just totally love your magazine! The November issue arrived on Monday, and it was as good as ever. The idea to 'clear' te front cover of subscriber's copies, to do justice to the image, is great!

Sorry you guys in the States, didn't mean to make you jealous! ;o)

GreyWolf - I get my copy at Robinson McNally downtown. Indigo has it sometimes too. But robinson actually makes sure I get a copy, they phone me when it comes in.

I just caught Jorge's images today at our recently opend Barnes and Noble. I didn't have any cash with me having just bought lunch so I will pick one up next time I'm over there. The photos look great Jorge!
