There is more hype on Photrio than Kodak. It's got to end in wide-spread disappointment.

I was about to say the same but you have made it unnecessary. Clearly by definition a lot of people are going to be disappointed given what we've seen from the speculation so far.

At one time Kodak made a very fast film Royal-X Pan. When pushed it produced grain the size of cannon balls. It was eventually dropped due to lack of sales. Would Kodak repeat itself?

Then there is Ferrania P30. Kodak has always liked to kill any competition. So maybe a medium speed film as competition. I have always thought the discontinuation of 125PX was premature.

All these so-called clues are meaningless. They remind me of Paul Newman's attempts to get a formula from an East German scientist in the film "Torn Curtain" The scientist believes that Paul has something to give in return but has to keep correcting Paul's maths on a blackboard with his own until it dawns on him that Paul knows nothing, and is simply fishing but the scientist has given away everything he knows to Paul.

Anyone still remember that film? Good, well executed cons are always worth remembering

Kodak sold 40% more film last year than they expected

Where did that piece of data come from?

Fantastic if it's true, but....

"Get Ready to push your photography to the net level" -> "Net Level" probably means something internet related. Most likely the blockchain thing.

Sorry, guys, but I am preparing to be underwhelmed.

I won’t speculate on what the announcement will be. I am glad to see a major manufacturer/distributor teasing something positive about film, though.

The 'NET' part was a typo by the poster. It should read 'next' level.

A fast film on the way, by the look of it. All good news, whatever it happens to be.

I am beginning to believe that this is marketing to distract the market that Ektachrome ain't coming back. A pushable bw film isn't really needed, so why do it? I guess because they can.

Thank goodness! The last thing they need to do is some kind of internet sharing web thing.

If it is any kind of a new film announcement that would be great!

If Kodak puts out a fast pushable bw film, it will have to pretty damn good for me to move away from Ilford in that market. Kodak doing this as a way to ease the news that Ektacrhome ain't gonna happen?

I think Ektachrome will happen, but with the failure of Ferrania to produce their E6 film there isn't much pressure. They can leave Fuji holding the bag for a little longer. The new Ektachrome 100D was supposed to have been shown at CES but I haven't seen any confirmation that it was.

Anyway, with all the grousing about Ektachrome not appearing as of yet, no surprise there wouldn't have been any external hints about a new product.

I don't see the demand for a high speed color product. Fuji has been discontinuing its high speed products, undoubtedly due to lack of demand. ISO 400 is more than adequate for everything I do. Is it just that photographers have become used to shooting at high ISO with digital and think they need something comparable for film? Or has Kodak decided it will fill the niche vacuum left by Fuji?
