Can someone point me to a good photograph by her? Because her images leave me cold.
She is great, often depicting women in a strong presence.
Off coarse some don't like that.
Women make the best photographers.

I think she gets by on her name.
Use that photo of The Queen that awty posted.
It it was me presenting that as my work I'd be lambasted. Subject is oddly cropped, the colors look cheap and overdone and honestly could have been shot on a 10 year old phone. But Annie shot it so it's amazing. I think time will judge her work and it won't necessarily be flattering.
Her face looks washed out.
She looks strong and assertive, some would prefer demure, feeble, eating sandwiches with Paddington bear.
The pose and background is very dramatic classic English. You could imagine queen Victoria doing the same.
But she still looks pale, like death warmed over. No insult to the Queen, this is comment about Annie Leibowitz's makeup and lighting.
I’d love to see your work if you believe you could have done it (along with your 10-year-old assistant). Along with how. You could start with how you lit it and what you said to the Queen as far as direction.
Very Iconic, John adored Yoko and the picture shows it. Lots of people hate Yoko, mostly men, same goes with Annie.

It's very hard not to be biased on people's personality, that's why I choose not to read about photographers and just base my opinion on what I see.Disliking someone's work doesn't make one hate the person.
Gail Rubin was a massive influence on my work. She doesn't have an extensive body of work but it's what was on my parents shelf growing up. I poured over the photos wondering how it was done. It was a mystery to me. There was no moment of 'Oh, these photos were taken by a women. I guess they're pointless.'
I don't care who pushes the shutter. The work speaks for them.

Annie has interesting compositions and often depicts her female subjects in a strong roll, men more effeminate, challenging the norm.
It's good for photography and I hope it gives up and coming photographers a broader scope.

The image is just right, projects ancient power (monarchy) and is all modern avant garde.
10 year old phone? That's fine if it would have been shot on that. Only the end result matters.
And let’s not forget that there are significant processes and other “artistic/creative influences” between the photo session and the image we ultimately see published.
