Annie Leibovitz

Maybe, but I'm still curious, because England hasn't had a King since 1936.
Oh.....Sorry.
I am just a slovenly American.
Queen Elizabeth.....i guess her husband is "just" a Prince.....Phillip is it?
I assumed if you were married to The Queen that you were, in turn, The King.
I am obviously wrong.
It would seem i have no idea how all that works.

As one who has a particular interest in Kings...
Which King are you referring to?

Old King Cole ... ?

... was a merry old soul, and a merry old soul was he; he called for his pipe, and he called for his bowl, and he called for his fiddlers three...

My favourite is King Canute.
Some might say a kindred spirit with us long time APUG participants.

But CMoore, you shouldn't feel bad about not understanding the incredibly complex rules about who gets what royal title ("royal ascension"). The Queen's husband himself is only a Prince because she appointed him to that position. Without that action, he wouldn't even have a title.
To give you an idea about the complexity, there are circumstances where our Canadian Parliament has a say on who the next monarch is.
The rules of royal ascension make the rules about the US Electoral College seem positively straightforward!
