Hi,

I recently got this Voigtlander Anastigmat Skopar 135/4.5 lens, that has some internal haze within the front group. I can unscrew the entire group out of the shutter, but I cannot find an obvious way to further disassemble.

Do you happen to have any experience? Thanks!

Usually the front metal part unscrews on these types of lenses. Look closely around the outer band of it for a set screw. And look for any hint of a gap indicating two pieces meeting. Especially at where the outer band ends going to back of the lens. Often with both precise machining and age/dirt/corrosion it can be hard to find the joint. Wipe any possible joint with solvent to clean/flush any possible dirt away.

What Dan said, but it’s very likely that the front retaining ring is unscrewed by applying pressure with a rubber friction tool and turning. It may be very difficult to get the ring to unscrew, so a drop or two of naphtha on the threads may help.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I found another thread on photrio 2 years ago. It seems the beauty ring should be able to unscrew for further disassembling the two elements in the front group. I will try in the next couple of days.

Just to close the thread, indeed the beauty ring screw off and everything can be cleaned properly.
