Hi everybody, greeting from Italy!

I began my exploration of photography thanks to my father and his Nikon F-401S 35mm, which I began using when I was a kid and digital compact cameras were becoming increasingly popular. As film development costs rose, I briefly switched to digital compact cameras with an Olympus, but I really missed the comfortable, steady grip of a more "professional" camera, so I finally got a Nikon D3100 with an 18-55mm lens. From there, I began shooting and experimenting like never before, even though I still felt "caged" by the technical limitations of Nikon's entry-level camera. After several years, I then decided to take the plunge and upgrade to a full-frame; I've always stuck with Nikon, buying a used D3 to regain the autofocus of the old lenses I had and to overcome the limitations of ISO, frames per second, and so on. After a few years of not taking photos as much as I used to (and as much as I wanted to), partly due to my job, I finally realized that what really interests me is portraiture and landscape photography. I like to give meaning, depth, and a story to my shots.
Now I'm here to seek help in embarking on a new path: entering the world of old-fashioned photography with the precision and convenience of digital.

Digital and photographic can't be compared. The film camera can't show you your picture on the back of the camera. With film, you need a dependable technique, because you can know what you have till its far too late to re-shoot. The main advantage of film is that you can make nice pictures and never have to touch or even think about a damn computer, which is the bane of our existence.
